Telescopic paper straw
LVTU CITY systems

A compact two-piece format designed around the cup, the pack and the way the drink is opened.

A coated paper-straw system developed around defined drink conditions and the intended serving time.

Produced with a closely integrated manufacturing partner, while LVTU coordinates specification, documentation, sampling and supply.

A water-based coating solution developed to help address microwave use, perceived odor and food release in molded-fiber containers.
Engineering layer
The inner tube’s 10 mm tail expands to 12 mm OD. It travels inside the 12 mm bore, then stops behind the outer tube’s 10 mm-long, 11 mm neck so the inner tube cannot pull free.
Every strong claim needs a defined substrate, food type, temperature, contact time and test method. Our content and sampling process make those conditions visible.

Compare structure and mouthfeel over the intended serving time.
Drink · temperature · contact time
Evaluate molded fiber around the actual food, cycle and coating weight.
Food · cycle · coating weight
Use controlled side-by-side trials instead of absolute non-stick claims.
Food · surface · release force
Validate collapsed length, extension, lock, puncture and particle flow.
Pack · extension · lock · puncture
Evaluate coated paper under defined acidic, alcoholic and fatty-food simulation conditions. LVTU coating development targets lower extractives, with conclusions tied to the exact substrate, coat weight and laboratory report.
3% acetic acid · ethanol · isooctane · defined time / temperatureTesting context: EN 1186-3:2022 and GB 4806.10-2025, with particular focus on extractables testing using acetic acid, ethanol and isooctane. The applicable simulant concentration, contact time and temperature are confirmed against the intended use and the project test report.
